YFN Lucci Hand Over Himself to Police, Faces Murder Charge
Wednesday (Jan. 13) YFN Lucci confessed to police and faces a murder charge in connection with a deadly shooting last month.
Atlanta police tell CNN that a 29-year-old rapper whose real name is Rayshawn Bennett is currently being held in Fulton County Jail. He was wanted earlier in the week on charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, street gang activity involvement, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony.
For every person, the presumption of innocence is a basic constitutional right. “We do not have any further comments beyond that at this time,” his lawyer, Thomas Reynolds, told CNN.
James Adams, 28, died during the Dec. 10 shootout in southwest Atlanta after he was found lying on the ground with a bullet wound to his face. A second victim, Kevin Wright, 32, arrived at a local fire station a short time later with a non-fatal gunshot wound to his abdomen.
In addition to Lucci, two other men, 23-year-old Ra’von Boyd and 17-year-old Leroy Pitts, were arrested in Miami for their alleged roles in the shooting and booked for felony murder.
A 911 call led to a criminal assassination warrant for the arrest of Lucci. TMZ received audio of a woman’s call made last month in Atlanta when she saw a white SUV driving by “with a man hanging out of the car.” She saw the man being shot on the street with what appeared to be a bullet wound to the head. She tried to get an ambulance to the site, but moments later, he died.
The Atlanta police provided a $5,000 reward for information that led to the arrest and prosecution of YFN Lucci.
