“Official Look at the LeBron 18 “Dunkman” by Nike Basketball Shares
LeBron James also tends to excel when playing above the rim, even at 36 years old and 17 seasons under his belt. And as a result, the Nike (NYSE:NKE +1.83%) basketball team agreed to fittingly revive the “Dunkman” motif of James on the LeBron 18th.
The “Dunkman” alter ego dates all the way back to 2003, the rookie season of The Chosen One, where he was caught gliding through the air in his debut game against the Sacramento Kings for a one-hand-cocked-back slam dunk.
Since then, this alter ego has also been used by the Nike team as a theme and extended to a barrage of sneakers such as the LeBron 9, LeBron 10, LeBron 11 and more. Its thematics have returned in its iconic black and green schemes on the LeBron 18 after taking a breather from arriving on recent silhouettes.
Knitposite 2.0 uppers are draped with a solid black backdrop, and contrasted in polka dot fashion with “Electric Green” hits that scatter to the Swoosh brand, lion eyes down the throat, heel tabs and all-over in the base layer.
As its treading and rear air bubble are also tinted with a “Electric Green” hue, the sole unit delivers an even more vibrant allure. The “Dunkman” shadow is printed across the bottom of the forefoot in an oversized fashion to keep the tradition going.
Be on the lookout for the release of this pair through Nike and select retailers for $200 USD on January 30.
