I Wrote And Co-Produced Davido’s Aye – Runtown Reveals

Douglas Jack Agu, popularly known as Runtown, a Nigerian singer and record producer, has revealed that he wrote and co-produced one of Davido‘s greatest hit songs, Aye.

In answer to a question by a fan called “Magnifico,” he made this disclosure during a QnA session on Twitter.

“@iRuntown Who wrote Aye?” he asked.

Runtown in response said, “I wrote it. And also co-produced it. Nothing wrong in using songwriters if you write song for me and I like am I go sing am.”

However, this new disclosure contradicts the reported assertion by Davido that the Nigerian artist, Tspize, was responsible for writing and producing the hit single.

On February 1, 2014, Aye was freed. David Adeleke, Davido, has the Wikipedia page for the song as the songwriter for this unique song.

In March 2014, Knowledge Nigeria published how Runtown was allegedly convinced by Davido to sell him the album.

Songwriting is not a felony, although many find this recent trend unusual, and songwriters play a very pivotal role in the music industry.
