DRAKE’S ‘CERTIFIED LOVER BOY’ BREAKS APPLE MUSIC 2021 RECORD FOR MOST-STREAMED ALBUM IN A DAY
Drake is a self-proclaimed record-breaker.
Drake’s sixth studio album, Certified Lover Boy, has already surpassed Apple Music’s 2021 record for most-streamed album in a single day, less than 12 hours after its release. In addition, Drake is the most-streamed artist on Apple Music in a single 24-hour period this year.
Drake’s 21-track album, which he described as “a combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth that is inevitably heartbreaking,” was released around 1 a.m. EST on Friday (Sept. 3), and featured JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Travis Scott, Future, Lil Baby, Young Thug, Lil Durk, 21 Savage, and others.

CLB surpasses Kanye West’s DONDA, which was the most-streamed album and artist in a single day on Apple Music just a few days ago. In 24 hours, it topped Apple Music’s Top Albums chart in 152 countries.
DONDA was streamed more than 60 million times in the United States on its first full day of release, making it the third-most-played album on Apple Music on its first day of release ever.
Drake’s previous album, Scorpion, broke Apple Music’s single-day global record with 170 million streams in 2018. With over 132 million streams in one day, he also broke Spotify’s one-day global record.
