Cardi B Reveals “WAP” Music Video Cost Her $1 Million USD

Cardi B provided fans with a sneak peek at her music video budgets, revealing that some of these high-quality visuals are not cheap.

The Invasion of Privacy rapper, speaking to fans on Twitter, revealed that her collaborative “WAP” music video with Megan Thy Stallion cost $1 million USD to make, while “Please Me” landed at $900,000 USD and $400,000 USD for “Money.”

The “WAP” steep price tag mirrored the visual quality, which also featured appearances from Kylie Jenner, Rubi Rose, Normani, and Rosalía, and proved to be well spent money with the records it set in 2020.

Cardi went on to share her other music videos’ budgets. “Bartier Cardi” cost $150,000 USD, while $15,000 USD was produced for her major label debut, “Bodak Yellow.” “I was in Dubai and I said, “I’ve got to fly a photo (videographer) out here,” she tweeted, “BOOM BOOM BANG! Ya know the rest of it.’

“She also revealed that her now-husband Offset had a wardrobe fee of $40,000 that forced her to go over the visual “Lick” budget of $15,000 USD. “…I had to pay it out my pocket because I didn’t want to look like a small artist with a small music video budget…

I told him like a year later,” she wrote, adding, “We shot the video at a casino in a Jersey Holiday Inn and I was embarrassed because it looked so low budget and Set was about to pull up and I barely knew him so I was so shy and my heart sinked when he kissed me on camera.”
