BROCKHAMPTON Gains First Platinum Record With “SUGAR”

Off  their August 2019 album ‘GINGER.’

As ‘SUGAR’ exceeded 1 million units, BROCKHAMPTON has finally received their first ever platinum certification.

RCA Records shared the announcement with a congratulatory visual that lists the achievements of the album, its favorable feedback and the boy band’s performing live footage.

Some of the accolades of the GINGER cut include its addition to the No. 1 pop playlists of Spotify and Apple Music, licensing and appearances on Fortnite and the Wireless TV show and the viral TikTok challenge featuring Ryan Beatty and Matt Champion’s dance in the music video of the song.

SUGAR” also marked the first Billboard Hot 100 entry for the party, with the track peaking at No. 66 and remaining for nine weeks on the chart.

SUGAR” served as the fifth single from GINGER and provided two music videos plus one remix.”

In December 2019, the first visual, helmed by Kevin Abstract, dropped and featured NSFW scenes, aliens and a trip to hell, while its counterpart from February 2020 was a more relaxed version that saw the group perform in a much tamer setting.
